Dry powder extinguishing systems designed and manufactured by DI.MARCA use Sodium Bicarbonate as the main extinguishing agent and are aimed at the industrial sector, in particular they are intended for petrochemical derivatives processing. In fact their technical characteristics make them suitable extinguishing Class C type fires, which can develop in the presence of the safety valves mounted on tanks for the storage of petroleum derivatives or natural gas in the liquid state.
Systems are designed and manufactured according to specific customer requirements and only after careful analysis of all the variables by our Design Office: They usually consist of a tank, the size of which varies depending on the amount of extinguishing agent to be stored, which is hermetically sealed to keep the powders contained therein free from moisture. A battery of high pressure cylinders is then connected to the tank; these are filled with nitrogen and equipped with electric or pneumatic remote controls, in addition to a local manual control system. Perfect pressurisation of the vessel containing the extinguishing powder is one of the key elements of a reliable system, This not only minimises the possibility of nitrogen loss from the cylinder, but it also prevents the gradual release of nitrogen into the vessel itself, thereby enabling a perfect mixing process of the components and thus greater efficiency of the system itself.
